The Revenue Accounting Manager role presents a unique opportunity to lay the foundation for a scalable revenue recognition function and to build out robust revenue recognition procedures for newly developing business lines at a high growth leader in the digital asset space. This person will play a critical role in month end close activities and help us build for scale and contribute to the design, documentation and implementation of policies, processes and controls related to revenue recognition under ASC 606.

Technical Skills:
- Assist in managing a team responsible for
- Timely collections and accounting for A/R and revenue related to multiple lines of business
- Month end close activities for multiple legal entities, including journal entries, reconciliations and intercompany amounts
- Evaluate customer contracts for non-standard terms and conditions that have revenue recognition implications and document the proper revenue accounting treatments in collaboration with Technical Accounting.
- Apply advanced skills in Google Sheets to efficiently and reliably work with large data sets.
- Resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways, suggesting different potential approaches and adapting to new circumstances rapidly.
Complexity and Impact of Work:
- Partner closely with billing/AR team members to facilitate a timely month-end close, with specific focus on revenue recognition journal entries.
- Interface with Legal and Sales to ensure consideration of revenue recognition outcomes in the negotiation phase of new contracts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for coordinating fee calculations and settlements with external business partners.
- Proactively suggest and implement improvements to the design and execution of fee calculations, including performing system testing and implementing controls to ensure the integrity of new solutions prior to full deployment.
- Assist with ad hoc projects as they arise, while proactively communicating the impact to other in-progress projects and recurring responsibilities.
Organizational Knowledge:
- Understand the strategy of Anchorage and contribute to planning and goal-setting exercises for the team.
- Investigate and resolve variances resulting from flux analysis and account reconciliations.
- Conduct comprehensive revenue analysis and act as a key point of contact for the FP&A team on revenue matters.
Communication and Influence:
- Promote a positive working environment through proper listening, speaking, and empathy with team members. Embody and act as a role model for our culture pillars.
- Standardize and document processes with an intentional approach to create shared consciousness and eliminate single points of failure.
- Assist with internal and external audit processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Ability to document and communicate accounting procedures in a way that enables data engineering teams to support automation efforts
You may be a fit for this role if you have:
- 8+ years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience in technical revenue accounting
- Fluency in ASC 606 and the ability to research complex accounting issues in partnership with technical accounting team members
- A proven track record of designing processes to operationalize and scale technical revenue accounting conclusions for complex contracts
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to drive cross functional project
