Position Summary:

The FAU Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine seeks an accomplished Medical Doctor with a specialization in Addiction Medicine to join the faculty as a Professor of Population Health and Social Medicine. This position combines advanced clinical expertise in addiction medicine with a strong background in population health and social medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate is expected to (1) develop an active program of research that includes publishing in peer-reviewed journals, securing funding for research projects, and mentoring student research projects; (2) participate in the design, development, and delivery of educational programs for pre-baccalaureate students, masters level students, medical students, and residents in internal medicine, preventive medicine, and addiction medicine; (3) mentor and guide students and junior faculty, providing them with opportunities to engage in hands-on community work and research; (4) create and/or lead programs emphasizing preventive care, addiction services, and holistic approaches to health to serve the local and surrounding communities; and (5) achieve quality-of-life enhancement for individuals with chronic diseases and substance use disorders

Minimum Qualifications:

Physician (MD) with a Master of Public Health degree (MPH), Board Certification and Fellowship in Preventive Medicine (FACPM), Board Certification and Fellowship in Addiction Medicine (FASAM), fluency in English and Spanish, and proven track records in scholarship and research, education, service, and patient care.
