Medical Billing Specialist

Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Billing and Coding Specialist to stay on board and assist with the outsourcing of our billing and coding teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing and coding procedures, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. This position will act as a liaison between MNWC and Revele. This position will require flexibility, as the responsibilities of the position may change as we navigate new processes. 

Responsibilities:

• Respond to questions & tasks on Connect
• Respond to Tier 3 tasks on Collectly
• Respond to billing & coding Actions & Telephone Encounters in eClinicalWorks
• Respond to Billing Teams questions, as needed
• Respond to patient billing inquiries over phone, email, or other forms of communications
• Reconcile allergy invoices
• Reconcile self-pay claims
• Identify, review, and problem solve billing & coding issues between external RCM team & internal team
• Participate in weekly calls with external RCM team
• Other duties, as assigned

Requirements

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
• Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g. CPC, CCS) strongly preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding
• Proficiency in medical terminology
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and billing software
