About the role
JOB SUMMARY:
The Development Engineering Intern will report to a Lead Engineer in the Technology Development and Transfer group to support new development efforts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Characterize electrical parametric devices by hand probe
- Perform and evaluate process splits
- Measure and analyze inline wafer data (film thickness, critical dimensions, etc.)
- Create process characterization documents
- Support company initiatives, such as; quality, safety and environmental management, CQI, 5S, yield management, cost containment and perform other duties as assigned.
- Other duties, as assigned
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Students working toward a Bachelor or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics
- Students in their Junior year or higher
- Coursework should include: Intro to Device Physics and/or Semiconductor Processing course preferred, but not required
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: (Fab-involved roles, example)
- Requires walking and standing in an office setting.
- Occasional work in a cleanroom environment and wearing clean room attire (bunny suit, mask, gloves, protective eye wear and booties).
- Lift/carry 10 pounds at a time
- Must be able to read small print, with or without visual corrective lenses.
- Many wafer handling functions performed manually (i.e.: load, unload, transfer, transport, etc.) including operating hand-held devices such as keyboard, keypad, mouse/trackball, scanner and wand.
- Many tasks require two-handed grip/grasp on a frequent, to continuous, and daily basis.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Corporate and departmental orientations
- General: SPC, Annual Hazardous Waste and Right-to-Know, Annual EMS
- Other training, as assigned
DETAILS:
- On-site
- Full-Time, 40 hours a week, M-F 1st shift
- Hourly rate, does not qualify for benefits
- Drug screen and background check required
