** The Associate Manager-Logistics & Delivery is responsible for overseeing the delivery operations, routing, and logistics for Meals on Wheels, Congregate Dining, and Contract Meal programs. This role includes the recruitment, training, and supervision of delivery drivers, as well as the daily management and maintenance of the ANS vehicle fleet and delivery staff. This position requires a solution-oriented leader who can proactively address challenges, such as open routes or operational issues, to maintain seamless service. The Associate Manager works closely with Meals on Wheels Coordinator Supervisor, Kitchen Managers, Volunteer Coordinators and volunteers to ensure efficient and timely meal delivery.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Ensures that the senior's voice is heard, and the senior's ideas play a prominent role in programming

· Recruits, supervises, trains, monitors, and evaluates delivery driver staff,

· Administers personnel policies and procedures in accordance with Volunteers of America Colorado Branch guidelines, including adherence to the organization’s Vehicle Accident Policy.

· Develops, prepares, and monitors production schedules, cleaning schedules, food safety and sanitation training schedules, and practices for the delivery drivers.

· Reviews daily and weekly driver logs and reports.

· Ensure that meals counts are correct and report any discrepancies to the kitchen manager.

· Support Kitchen staff with dishing up hot meals.

· Ensure that all food is delivered within safe temperatures utilizing the appropriate temperature controls.

· Completes all route temperature checks 2 times per year.

· Ensures out of town routes and open routes are covered by floater drivers.

· Establishes and maintains a positive and effective relationship with volunteers, sites, clients, vendors, and staff.

· Ensures strict compliance with health, sanitation and safety regulations of all regulatory agencies and funding sources; maintains proficiency in all aspects of safe food handling, including knowledge and application of HACCP principles and procedures.

· Evaluate and decrease food waste and missed meals.

· Monitors all fleet vehicles daily in conjunction with delivery driver staff to ensure safety issues are addressed, vehicle repairs are scheduled and performed as needed, meals are properly maintained for safe delivery, scheduled deliveries are completed in a timely manner and assists with deliveries in the absence of staff.

· Supports delivery drivers in finding the best solutions that meet both client needs and organizational goals, fostering a collaborative and client-centered approach.

· Notifies and files appropriate incident/accident claims with the appropriate internal departments and external agencies in coordination with VOAC policies.

· Attendance at all team / department meetings to support communication, training, and morale.

· Performs other duties as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities

· Delivery Drivers (14 drivers – 10FTE)


Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

· Travel to and from event locations, partner agencies and meal locations may be required.

· Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks related to vehicle checks and delivery.

· May require sitting for extended periods of time.

· The noise level is usually low to moderate.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

· Monday – Friday 6am to 2:30pm

· Designated Holidays

Pay Range: $26.00-$28.00/hr non-exempt
