Engineering Manager - Process Modeling

The Team:

Our Process Modeling team focuses on improving and extending the process discovery and process modeling capabilities according to customer requirements, insights from academia and research. The team takes special care of the integration of data driven modeling approaches into our product.

The Role:

You will be part of the Process Mining Technology department. The team develops and tests new and innovative process discovery and (data driven) process modeling algorithms and approaches. As the Engineering Manager for Process Modeling, you will be taking on the responsibility for understanding customer needs as well as state-of-the-art research in the area of process discovery and modeling and how to relate them to the product. You will reduce requirements and ideas to code, evaluate the efficacy of this code, and implement it in our products. You will interact closely with other software engineers and product managers within the product and engineering organization to successfully deploy your code in production.

The work you’ll do:

• Enable the engineers' success by developing a transparent and collaborative team. Ensure your team builds the agility, technical expertise and interpersonal skills needed to drive innovation in the field of process discovery and process modeling
• Execute on the vision and roadmap of the department, working in close collaboration with product management, UX design and engineering peers
• Participate in the strategy process, to ensure team’s output meets business objectives
• Foster a strong collaboration between your team and the different engineering teams and stakeholders at Celonis 
• Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, share feedback regularly and partner with employees on career development
• Manage daily operations, scheduling meetings, addressing feedback, creating and refining processes

• Take active part in sourcing (via blog posts, conferences, publications, meetups, etc.) and hiring

The qualifications you need:

• A university degree in the area of computer science with a major in process mining or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of experience in state-of-the-art process mining
• 5+ years of experience in software development with Python, Java or C++
• Being able to contribute to a long-term vision and being able to define a strategy to execute on it
• Ability to drive innovation in the area of process discovery and process modeling
• Having experience with object-centric process mining as a plus
• Practical process modeling experience with BPMN as a plus
• An analytical mind with a great understanding of complex algorithms and data management
• Ability to set individual goals and targets for the team and communicate the strategy, tactics and behaviors required to achieve those goals
• Proven flexibility and ability to adapt to ambiguous and fast changing situations
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Good knowledge of spoken and written English
