Position Overview

Certified Payroll clerk reports to and works under the direction of the Construction Accounting Supervisor and Controller

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Handle all certified payroll related questions
  • Generate, Maintain and Submit weekly certified payroll reports through LCPTracker, Emails and other avenues
  • Handle any issues with certified payroll timely to avoid payment holds.
  • Coordinate with customer or General contractor at start of project to find out what their certified payroll requirements are, and how they require reports to be submitted.
  • Coordinate with construction contract accounting and admins on open projects requiring payrolls, start/end dates.
  • Coordinate with project managers on when the project begins and estimated completion date; and any discrepancies about the time reported to the employees.
  • Coordinate with HR any changes related to a time reported for any employee, in case of discrepancies that the record keeper report.
  • Work with subcontractors on missing payroll reports.
  • Assists Accounting department with various projects as needed.
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

 

  • Excellent computer skills using MS Office (Word and Excel), e-mail and an attitude for learning new software.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to meet individual deadlines, as well as work collaboratively with team to help them meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of LCP Tracker and/or other standard certified payroll tracking programs.

 

 

Work Requirements

  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
  • Must be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 requirement
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times
  • Report to work at the designated start time. Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required
  • Strictly adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Ability and desire to maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Internal and external customer service oriented is required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to nature of working environment

 

Education/Experience 

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • 5 years of related experience
  • Requires proficient use of office equipment, Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, Word, and the ability to work with various software programs which support business functions. 
  • Ability to meet individual deadlines, as well as work collaboratively with team to help them meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of LCP Tracker and/or other standard certified payroll tracking systems preferred.
