Role Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal DevOps Engineer to lead our DevOps initiatives, drive automation, and optimize a global cloud infrastructure. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who thrives in designing and maintaining scalable, secure, and cost-efficient CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes clusters, and modernized cloud-based systems. This role reports to the Director, Platform Engineering.
What you’ll do:
- Design robust, scalable, highly available global cloud architectures that meet business requirements and align with industry best practices.
- Have extensive hands-on experience with Azure, Kubernetes (AKS), Helm, and Docker containerization.
- Oversee the design, implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines to facilitate automated testing, deployment and monitoring of applications and infrastructure. (GitHub Actions)
- Have a solid understanding of networking, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning with tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar IaC frameworks.
- Establish best practices for observability, logging, alerting and monitoring using tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Be experienced with scripting and automation. (Python, Bash, Go, or similar).
- Champion collaboration with teams across the company to identify DevOps needs and deliver solutions to advanced technology goals that improve developer experience and release velocity.
- Have a background in compliance-heavy industries and integrating audit requirements with security standards and industry best practices. (SOC2, ISO 27001, etc.).
- Provide escalation assistance as required to resolve any technology stack related issues that may arise.
- Coach and mentor team members on best practices and standards in DevOps.
- Have familiarity with new industry trends in DevOps tools and concepts.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as necessary.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in DevOps or related fields, with at least 5 years in an architecture role.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure Stack, inc
