Job Description:

The Internal Hospital Supply Coordinator will provide support to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Hospital Supply Operations. It is essential that this person has experience with supply distribution and maintaining inventory levels. The employee in this position is responsible for fulfilling the routine supply needs of internal clients (i.e. Veterinary Teaching Hospital departments, and occasionally research departments throughout the School of Veterinary Medicine).

Job Responsibilities:

40% - Successfully restocks inventory items as they are received in accordance with their given locations in the inventory management software, BarCloud, maintaining a First In First Out (FIFO) inventory system to fulfill pre-determined quantity levels on stock shelves with priority to the main stock shelves, backstocking the excess. Works with the Senior Hospital Supply Coordinator to submit receipt confirmations to the Business Office in a timely manner.

35% - Fulfills incoming electronic orders (sales orders submitted on BarCloud and/or APRs submitted via Cornerstone), as well as walk-in orders by retrieving the specified items from stock shelves and scanning them out of the inventory software. Maintains integrity of workspace and inventory control by ensuring Hospital Supply staff are the only parties involved with stock except where explicitly discussed.

10% - Rotates backstock/overstock supplies to maintain a First In First Out (FIFO) inventory system and keep adequate quantities of supplies on hand to prevent interruption in workflow while completing electronic location moves in the inventory system (BarCloud). Alerts the Senior Hospital Supply Coordinator if a critical item is out of stock. Ensures all stock items are within proper expiration, completing appropriate discard measures for items out of date, damaged, or otherwise unable to be used. Compiles information from various sources and prepares reports.

10% - Works with the Senior Hospital Supply Coordinator to conduct quarterly physical counts, reconciling variances, and inputting data. May audit departments for expired goods and follows disposal protocols. Ensures any heavy equipment used in warehouse operations is properly maintained and user training is complete.

5% - Assist Hospital Supply Management to accomplish warehouse organization mission by completing related tasks as needed (other duties as assigned).

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Special and Physical Qualifications:

Required to be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching above the shoulder, reaching below the shoulder, twisting, pushing/pulling, and climbing.
