Job Description

AECOM Tishman is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Assistant Project Manager to support our exciting construction project for our technology client. 

• Under moderate supervision assists the Project Management team with management administration on a moderate size and scope project, or a portion of a large size and scope project, following set guidelines for completion of tasks.
• Employee receives moderate to limited supervision working from objectives set by supervisor. Employee organizes and carries out most assignments in accordance with standard practices, instructions, or previous training.
• Employee handles some unusual situations independently.  
• May interface with design team.
• May work closely with BIM team and use modelling software.
• May interact with Superintendents to address project questions/issues.
• Assists with and monitors change orders.
• May assist with regulatory compliance and financial reporting.
• Review project costs and scheduling to ensure completion of project within budget and in conformance with contract.
• Work with document control systems, project management systems and other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and accurate.
• Attend meetings and report on project tasks as needed.
• May provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• BS Engineering or related curriculum and 2 years of relevant experience in relevant construction experience or A/AS and 4 years of relevant experience or HS/GED and 6 years of relevant experience. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Desire to work and learn in an MEP construction environment (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing).
• 2-4 years of experience in mechanical/electrical construction, renovation/retrofit/construction in commercial construction.
• Mechanical experience and MEP in construction strongly preferred.
• Prior experience in submittals, meeting minutes, project scope and scheduling. 
• Ability to interact with many tiers of management on an active construction site.
• Ability to work independently.
• Experience working in critical environments/data center. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and Procore.
• Experience in ground-up construction from a large General Contractor.
• Subcontractor performance and reporting experience.
• Applicable OSHA certification(s).
• Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings.  
• Ability to travel to various project sites across the 5 Boroughs of New York.
