The Registered Dietitian II will provide and document dietary assessments, counseling, and treatment plans for metabolic genetics patients seen in both the clinic and inpatient settings at UCLA Ronald Reagan. The role includes remaining on-call for the inpatient metabolic service during assigned call periods and collaborating with family members and community representatives to encourage adherence to medically necessary diets. The Registered Dietitian II will work closely with and communicate regularly with other members of the care team, including physicians, nurses, genetic counselors, social workers, and other staff, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
In addition, the Registered Dietitian II will assist with management of the inpatient metabolic formulary and support system-wide changes to pharmacy and nutrition policies. Responsibilities also include assisting with obtaining necessary insurance authorizations, helping manage metabolic Newborn Screening cases, and participating in metabolic research initiatives, including the Urea Cycle Longitudinal Study. The Registered Dietitian II will conduct and participate in clinical and educational activities and will maintain all required licenses, certifications, and paneling.
Annual Salary Range: $85420.08 - $112668.48
Job Qualifications

All Required:
- Licensed Registered Dietitian
- Bachelor’s degree and/or combination of education and experience
- Completed an American Dietetic Association Internship
- Working knowledge of computers including EMR systems
- Demonstrated oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Demonstrated ability to be a team player
- Skill in answering inquiries by phone, email and mail correspondence
