The Associate Director of Facility Operations for Penn Engineering will manage the day-to-day operations & maintenance of the main Engineering complex & Hayden Hall including but not limited to; facilities repairs and maintenance, cleanliness (housekeeping), mission continuity, lab/life safety, security, building access and key control. Identify, prioritize & resolve building operational needs working in conjunction with both internal unionized & external service providers to meet customer satisfaction and departmental needs and mission critical goals. Provide operational oversight on renovation projects and facilities related work requests- some of which can be highly involved and or sophisticated involving complex building systems such as HVAC and electrical distribution. Directly supervise two current employees and future additions to the department. This position will work with the Sr Director on the fiscal responsibility of all maintenance expenses. Represent department at project meetings to ensure continuity of building operations and manage utility shutdowns. Perform building tours, working closely with housekeeping senior leadership and management staff to develop and oversee Housekeeping program as it relates to Penn Engineering. Support SEAS-Space on special event logistics- coordinate with various internal departments in addition to departments and entities external to the university. Maintain departmental database integrity for Work Orders, Keys, etc. Support Penn’s Climate Action Plan. Maintain 24/7 on call status for emergency situations and school needs such as lab lock outs, elevator entrapments, power loss, etc.
