Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an Experienced Field Service Representative to support the KC-46 Tanker Aircraft at Travis Air Force Base (AFB), California.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Travis AFB, CA.

You are applying for a Field Operations position where our employees must be willing and able (potentially short notice) to travel to a variety of locations (domestic and/or international) to meet the needs of our customers.

Field Operations employees may be required to relocate to another Field Operations location based on customer needs and/or management requirements.

Specific contracts supported by Field Operations could require employees to perform a deployment to a US DOD contingency operation. Employees associated with these specific contracts must be able to pass military contractor health standards for deployment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Direct support to U.S. Air Force is primarily provided at non-Boeing facilities, e.g., customer bases/sites, other contractor facilities, remote operating locations, or a combination of field locations.

  • Utilize multi-disciplined technical expertise and company knowledge to assist the customer maintain a high level of aircraft availability.

  • Validates or reviews effectiveness of existing solutions, and then develops corrective, proactive, and/or preventative action plans.

  • Sustain a high level of proficiency in the maintenance and operation of company products by investigating technical problems and determining root causes.  

  • Develop and implement corrective actions to ensure customer satisfaction.  

  • Understand customer expectations, assist the customer in interpreting and using support data and documents, and provide technical on-the-job training.  

  • Act as the on-site liaison between the company and customer personnel of widely varying backgrounds to gain resolution of significant technical and operational issues affecting mission readiness and operational cost.  

  • Work unsupervised for extended periods of time in a wide variety of technical, cultural, economic environments.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum 5 years experience in maintaining and troubleshooting aircraft systems.

  • Willing and able to work rotational shifts, including weekends.

  • Ability to support on-call work during all shifts as required.

  • Must be able to kneel, squat, and stand in the elements and small spaces for extended periods.

  • Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs.

  • At the sole discretion of leadership, employees must be willing and able (on potentially short notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs. Failure to deploy/travel will be considered as a resignation. 

  • Must meet USAF and Boeing deployment requirements for FSRs defined by program management.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License desired.

  • Proactive and analytical thinker.

  • Previous experience working with KC-46, KC-135, KC-10 or 767 products is desirable.

  • Knowledgeable in aircraft structural repair.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Teams, Powerpoint, and Excel.

  • Prefer previous military experience.

  • Organizational through Depot Level maintenance.

  • Bachelor's degree

Typical Education & Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).
