Position Summary 

The Sr. Staff, Cybersecurity Awareness Specialist is a senior individual contributor within the Global Security team responsible for developing, executing, and continuously improving cybersecurity awareness, communications, and enablement programs that strengthen security culture and support strategic security objectives. 

As a recognized cybersecurity awareness and communications expert, the Sr. Staff, Cybersecurity Awareness Specialist leads complex awareness and communication initiatives, supports executive and stakeholder communications during cybersecurity events, and drives programs that reinforce a strong security culture. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Executive Communications & CSO Enablement 

  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor to the CSO, supporting executive engagement and awareness related to cybersecurity strategy, risk, incidents, and key business priorities. 
  • Develop clear, consistent messaging that communicates security priorities, risk posture, and program outcomes across executive, employee, customer, and partner audiences. 
  • Create executive presentations, briefing materials, talking points, and messaging for leadership, board, customer, and external-facing engagements. 
  • Anticipate communication needs related to emerging threats, incidents, regulatory developments, and strategic initiatives, ensuring leaders are informed and prepared 

Security Communications & Enablement 

  • Develop and deliver communication plans supporting key security initiatives, policies, processes, and programs. 
  • Translate complex cybersecurity concepts into clear, concise messaging for executive, technical, and non-technical audiences. 
  • Support the development of executive presentations, leadership updates, and security communications aligned with organizational priorities. 
  • Create enablement materials that promote understanding and adoption of security controls, tools, and processes. 

Incident Response & Crisis Communications Support 

  • Support security leadership during cybersecurity incidents and crisis situations by developing timely and accurate stakeholder communications. 
  • Partner with Incident Response, Legal, Corporate Communications, Product, Engineering, and business leaders to ensure messaging consistency during security events. 
  • Develop executive-ready briefings, talking points, FAQs, and situational updates that communicate incident information effectively. 
  • Assist in maintaining and improving incident communication playbooks, templates, and response procedures. 

Customer Trust & External Communications Support 

  • Contribute to customer-facing security communications and trust-building initiatives in partnership with Security, Legal, Product, Engineering, and Customer teams. 
  • Support the creation of customer-facing awareness materials, security program summaries, and incident-related communications as needed. 
  • Help ensure consistency, accuracy, and clarity across external security communications. 

Program Leadership & Collaboration 

  • Lead awareness and communications initiatives with moderate to high complexity and visibility. 
  • Act as a trusted subject matter expert for cybersecurity awareness within Global Security. 
  • Collaborate across teams to align messaging, improve security engagement, and support organizational objectives. 
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to team members and peers on effective security communications and awareness practices. 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 
  • 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity awareness, communications, enablement, training, security culture, or related disciplines. 
  • Experience developing and executing enterprise awarene
