Junior Financial Analyst (Hybrid Work Model)

We are looking for a junior financial/controlling analyst to contribute as a generalist across multiple finance mandates at Swiss Re. This role will provide you with the opportunity to interact with a variety of teams across Finance, Risk and Asset Management!
About the Role
This role requires a strong desire and intellectual curiosity to learn from multiple functions within Asset Management (AM) Finance, and the broader AM organization. Over-time developing a keen understanding of the valuation and reserving landscape, (including regulatory and accounting standards,) and aide as subject matter expert within the organization.
You will support valuation governance across multiple asset classes, assist in reporting of Expect Credit Loss (ECL) results under IFRS 9, and collaborate with Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) colleagues over strategic initiatives to enhance, and simplify existing business and financial reporting processes.
Primarily responsibilities also include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing materials for quarterly valuation governance meetings, ensuring timely submissions of meeting materials and documentation of meeting minutes
- Preparation of reporting packages for reserving committees and senior management in support of the ECL result
- Maintaining and coordination of updates to various governance policies
- Support implementation and on-going improvement of reporting and analytics tools that speak to the primary drivers of valuation and ECL results
- Assist in coordinating ECL process by liaising with cross functional teams to ensure timely delivery of data and process enhancements as warranted
- Support for various initiatives AM Finance initiatives including integration across FP&A and performance reporting teams
- Establishing strong link between valuations and ECL processes, understanding and verifying accounting impacts
- Assist in developing process and procedural documentation
About the Team
We, the Asset Management (AM) Finance team, lead and facilitate all financial matters related to Swiss Re Group’s investments. Working closely together within the team, we deepen the understanding of the end-to-end investment value chain. We are a global team of finance professionals that interact with a broad range of counterparts. The activities focus on collaborating with partners across the AM and Finance organizations with value creation at the center of attention while living up for a good work atmosphere and great team spirit!
About You
You are a responsible self-starter able to demonstrate strong communication and analytical skills, and the ability to work on month-end deliverables and projects independently and within specified timeframes. You bring a flexible, transition-oriented mentality, readily adapting to different ways of doing things!
Additional requirements include:
- University degree; preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business
- Understanding of financial products, asset classes and financial markets
- Strong team player, ability to work in agile environment and collaborate with cross function teams
- Knowledge of MS Office suite
- Comfortable working with large data sets in Excel
- Strong PowerPoint and communication skills
