Responsible for all facets of care, education and assessment of children's development as primary caregiver. Monitors staff's activities and parent communication. Acts as a mentor to teacher assistants and a resource to parents regarding child development in order to enhance continued growth of all children.
Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field is preferred with two to three years of occupationally specific education plus three to six months on the job training and orientation. Updated CDA (Child Development Associate) or CDS (Child Development Specialist) in field of concentration is accepted.
