We are very excited to launch our internship program at FDB in Thousand Oaks! The Intern will serve as a project lead and is responsible for ensuring successful identification and introduction of a new project at the FDBC facility via facilitation of cross functional teams, driving schedule adherence, escalation of identified risk, and any other activities that may serve to support our site.

All interns will participate in a 12-week part-time program that will allow them to immerse themselves in FDBC’s culture while also gaining valuable work and industry experience. Interns will assist with company projects and have the opportunity to see them through to completion. This program will run from February 19, 2024 through May 10, 2024. The Intern will support the New Product Introduction Team helping ensure successful new product introductions. They will support in the planning & delivery of projects from the point of project scoping through project closure. Compensation $20 to $25 per hour depending on experience and education
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning and execution of a project in alignment with site and team goals
- Work cooperatively with cross-functional teams to implement a project to improve overall quality, improve operational efficiency, enhance organizational capability, and assure regulatory compliance
- Develop and maintain Master Project Plan (MPP) including accurate durations & accountabilities for all milestones through the scope of the project
- Work with leadership to obtain resources as needed to accomplish project completion
- Define scope of project and benefits to implementation
- Define and escalate risks & define mitigation actions (materials, equipment, long lead times, item specs, methods, etc)
- Create standard agendas and meeting summaries (discussion points, decisions, action-risk log)
- Help implement a project team meeting cadence which enables appropriate internal discussions and engagement/communication as needed
- Ensure effective risk management processes are implemented to prevent unanticipated failure modes and ensure capability
- Support tracking and reporting project performance (financials & delivery metrics and analysis, monthly reports, etc)
- Drive timely decisions and facilitate active cross-functional technical communication and information flow between team members in order to collect required information for escalation of these decisions to leadership
- Develop and implement communication tools for projects
- Provide technical depth to support troubleshooting efforts and lead lessons learned activities
- Provide input on continuous improvement projects
- Contribute to a culture that embraces the safety of the work environment and the safety of patients by complying with company procedures and policies and cGMP cell culture manufacturing requirements
