Description of Role:
SRI Telecom is seeking an experienced Small Cell Construction Project Manager to lead the execution of wireless infrastructure projects from planning through closeout. This role is responsible for managing multiple active construction projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring all timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in wireless/small cell construction, vendor management, and project scheduling, with the ability to proactively identify risks and drive projects to completion.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, and status reporting (SiteTracker or similar tools)
- Lead end-to-end construction management of small cell and macro site deployments
- Coordinate with internal teams (scoping, OSP, design) and external vendors to meet project timelines
- Conduct bid walks, evaluate contractor bids, and support bid creation
- Manage General Contractors, ensuring work is completed on time and to quality standards
- Review and approve construction drawings and designs
- Coordinate fiber delivery with OSP teams and ensure alignment with build schedules
- Oversee power installation, working directly with local utility providers
- Support material procurement, including BOM creation, ordering, and PO management
- Track project risks and proactively implement solutions to avoid delays
- Review and approve contractor invoices based on production and performance
- Ensure all permits, inspections, and jurisdictional requirements are completed and closed out
- Drive successful site acceptance and closeout documentation in alignment with customer standards
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and accelerate project timelines
Skills:
- 2+ years of experience in telecom construction, project management, or related field
- Hands-on experience with wireless or small cell construction projects
- Working knowledge of commercial power installation processes
- Strong experience managing multiple concurrent construction projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively across technical teams, vendors, and leadership
- Experience with SiteTracker, OPTIX, UET Remedy, or similar project tracking tools
- Strong understanding of OSP/fiber coordination within wireless deployments
- Experience working with utilities and permitting processes
- Ability to analyze cost, risk, and ROI impacts of project decisions
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and manage stakeholders at all levels
