Position Summary:
The Software Engineering Manager leads a multi-site team in the execution of complex projects to develop and launch diagnostics devices and customer facing tools that are on time, within specification and cost in the regulated medical device industry. The position is responsible for the tactical planning and project management of these projects and facilitates their delivery via Envista Business Systems tools and processes. The position uses a depth and/or breadth of specialized knowledge to interpret internal and external business issues, recommend best practices, and solve complex problems with a broad perspective and innovative solutions. The position works independently with guidance only in the most complex solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads multidisciplinary software development team in the development and sustainment of medical device software and associated infrastructure and support tools.
- Initiates New Product models, derivatives, and specials as necessary to meet agreed upon customer needs. Supply input for Strategy planning and product direction.
- Partners with Product Management, Service, Training, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure successful preparation for and execution of commercial launch.
- Directly assists the team with development of key initiatives and functions as an individual contributor for select projects.
- Communicates clarity of priorities, fosters cross-functional collaboration, and resolves gaps in understanding to maintain project momentum and organizational cohesion.
