Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sr. Manager, Data Services to lead and manage our data warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the architecture, design, implementation, and optimization of our data warehouse environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the data infrastructure supports our growing business needs, delivering reliable data that drives insights and decision-making.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong technical background and a passion for driving data-driven solutions.
Work Environment: Hybrid - In office (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday)
Locations: Salt Lake City, Austin, Dallas
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of data warehouse engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of the data warehouse infrastructure, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Science, etc.) to define data requirements and implement solutions that support Care.com's strategic initiatives.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and enforce data management policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Work closely with stakeholders to prioritize and deliver on data warehouse initiatives that align with business goals.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts related to data warehouse technologies and services.
- Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of the data warehouse environment.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in data warehousing, including 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing data warehouse teams in fast-paced, complex environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with data warehousing technologies (e.g., MySQL, Vertica, Snowflake, etc.) and ETL/ELT processes.
- Deep understanding of data modeling, data architecture, and best practices for building scalable data solutions.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and data integration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow).
- Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of SQL and database performance tuning.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with data governance, privacy regulations, and compliance standards.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
