The Opportunity:

You'll participate as a Military Medicine subject matter expert in support of U.S. government institutional capacity building activities in direct support of the ASEAN Significant Security Cooperation Initiative Military Medicine line of effort. The subject matter expert will support the U.S. Government to coordinate with Military Medicine (MIL MED) with a focus on developing and coordinating MIL MED programs in close collaboration with the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command Office of Surgeon. The Subject Matter Expert will support MIL MED in their development of effective SOPs and guidelines for multilateral military medical operations that are consistent with international best practices, advise MIL MED on their development of joint military medicine plans and multinational crisis response preparations, assist MIL MED as they establish regional medical intelligence and information sharing and analysis capacity, and multinational communications and logistics infrastructure, and joint training, research, and certification arrangements to enhance multinational interoperability, advise MIL MED staff on transition to multinational staff based on U.S and international best practices, and development of MIL MED 5-year roadmap. You will assist in Global Health Engagement for the integration of MIL MED into its mission set and facilitate and shape future security cooperation initiatives and multilateral efforts, with a focus on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Recover (HA/DR), infectious disease monitoring and response, the integration of women, peace and security elements, and military medical support to stability operations.

You Have:

• Experience as a military physician or Medical Service Corps officer at the O5/O6 level with service in the INDOPACOM AOR

• Experience with US MIL MED planning and operational and working in the INDOPACOM AOR with ASEAN member nations

• Experience with the DoD and their mission and activities in the INDOPACOM AOR

• Experience with the integration of MIL MED into Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HA/DR) operations

• Experience with Women Peace and Security as it applies to global health and HA/DR

• Experience with DoD U.S. Security Cooperation, security assistance programs, and institutional capacity building

• Experience as an Instructor in a multinational environment

• Secret clearance

• M.D. degree

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
