Role overview
The mission of our Product team is to build products that empower both workers and employers on our platform. We are information magnets and work closely with stakeholders across the business to determine how we can move the needle for key performance metrics.
Our marketplace team will focus on the core product offering of our business, the marketplace. The team will focus on building key marketplace levers to drive utilization and fulfillment, including shift matching and dispatch algorithms, pricing and incentives, and worker capacity and shift demand to keep our marketplace balanced. Partnering closely with senior product and engineering leadership, the Product Director, Marketplace will be a key leader of the strategic direction of our product.
This role is based in New York City (HQ) with typically 3+ days per week in the office.
What you’ll do:
Own the product roadmap for all marketplace initiatives, including the development of marketplace models and systems to efficiently match partners and shifts and maximize marketplace utilization
Define, track and drive key business metrics (e.g. marketplace capacity, utilization, shift fill rate).
Partner with teams such as Engineering, Design, Data, Customer, Partner Supply, and Growth to understand business needs and translate that into product and feature requirements.
Be an information magnet. You will understand what is and what is not working for our customers and our users, then use that information to shape and define the product roadmap.
Scale your leadership through both direct mentorship and via best practices, processes, training and tools and participate in scaling our team.
Who you are
You love being the magnet for all information and enjoy solving problems while working cross-functionally with various teams to make decisions.
Analytically-minded - You have 8+ years experience in a product management role that requires data-driven decision-making, ideally in startups.
A marketplace expert: You have prior experience working with 2-sided marketplaces and are intimately familiar with the demand and supply levers that balance marketplace utilization and efficiency. You have experience launching both complex features and algorithms that optimize marketplace dynamics and improve business metrics and customer experience
Insight discovery - You are able to gather and synthesize all types of data to make product roadmap decisions.
Product strategy - You have experience developing, prioritizing, and communicating product roadmaps that align towards business objectives. You are able to make sense of ambiguity and convince others of your plan.
Execution skills - You’re able to collaborate with design and engineering teams to design, develop, test, ship, and iterate on the product in an agile model.
