As a Production Scheduler, you will build a production schedule that supports the sales and operations plans that will maximize labor while providing a high level of customer service. Works with manufacturing to ensure level schedules in accordance with plant capacity and key performance indicator. Coordinate with buyers in reference to material constraints of scheduling.
What you'll be doing:
- Establish schedules in accordance with the overall sales and operations plan.
- Recognize and suggest changes to daily capacity and opportunities for labor reduction.
- Implement changes resulting from engineering or customer requests.
- Answer inquiries from the sales department pertaining to production status of an order.
- Coordinate multiple production schedules to support shipping metrics and customer commitments.
- Communicate schedule activities with operations staff, supply chain, and all necessary appropriate business functions.
- Daily interaction with production to identify and promote attention to immediate & upcoming requirements in meeting shipping demands.
- Verify and adjust the schedule in accordance with the availability of critical parts.
- Provide support and communication between sales and production facility for schedule changes and cancelations. Reserves capacity for short lead-time programmed orders.
- Communicates daily to production schedule changes due to short lead-time programmed orders through delivery of proper paperwork to the floor in a timely manner.
- Release units to the value stream and resolve constraints and/or communicate constraints.
- Daily interaction with programmers on value stream requirements and utilization targets.
- Materials back-up for areas outside of scheduling responsibilities/duties.
- Monitor and conversion of internal MRP components.
- Schedule internal work operations within value stream
- Creation and distribution of key reports including late ship, priorities, etc.
- Review, record and determine root cause of stock outs after sequencing event.
- Work with production team to push hot orders
- Daily/Weekly/Monthly material management systematic functions/requirements
- Oversees material management functions including communication with buyers on variances or needed expedites
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field or at least three years of experience in a production leadership/office role is preferred.
- Ability to use and analyze existing Excel files and create new Excel files is required.
- Previous experience with SAP or a similar ERP system is preferred.
