The Senior Manager, Global Enterprise Performance, plays a critical role as a major insight and strategy provider in support of Marriott’s Customer Group and the broader enterprise. This role will support the Senior Director, Enterprise Performance in developing customer insights and strategies and working with teams across the organization to address implications. The Senior Manager will leverage all technical resources available to ensure the consumer is kept at the center of key business decisions. A critical role of the Senior Manager will be to understand key questions that are being (or should be) asked by the business teams, identify the appropriate solutions and business information sources (including research, analytics, and third-party information) to answer such questions, and synthesize data and insights into actionable steps to drive the business forward. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for managing and coordinating a number of cross-functional efforts across Marriott’s broader Strategy, Business Intelligence, and Data Operations team, including the monthly Insights Package, quarterly Corporate Communications/PR Insights report, and the Enterprise Competitive Scorecard. The Senior Manager will also structure and coordinate analytics requests of key external partners to provide additional insight to strategic initiatives.
The Senior Manager will demonstrate knowledge on relevant issues, products, systems, and processes, keeping up-to-date on the market, consumer trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging threats.
This is a very high-visibility role, with frequent presentations to, and interactions with, senior leaders.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Required
- 4-year degree from an accredited college or university
- MBA
- Five or more years’ experience in corporate strategy or management/strategy consulting, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize business and consumer data from multiple sources into insights with practical application to business needs
- Experience applying basic business strategy frameworks (e.g., 3 C’s, 4P’s, Porter’s 5 Forces)
- Experience using a hypothesis-driven approach to answer a business question and identifying ways to test hypotheses
- Experience supporting transformational strategies for business units
- Demonstrated quantitative acumen, including ability to use Excel to conduct data analysis
- Demonstrated ability to find structure, logic, and insight in complex business problems to provide meaningful conclusions
- Experience working with data and analytics teams
- Strong project management skills and experience balancing multiple projects or responsibilities simultaneously
- Understands and can articulate viewpoint from “voice of customer”
- Executive presence and the ability to present to and discuss complex topics with senior leaders
- Experience managing and defining transformational strategies for business units
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results under difficult conditions, particularly when faced with complexity and ambiguity
Education and Experience Preferred
- Five or more years’ experience in the hospitality industry, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance
- Global experience
- PowerBI skills
- Experience with B2C brands
