Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in market research, business administration, sociology, statistics, psychology, marketing, or related field
- 10 years of experience or equivalent competency in market research, product research, or similar field
- 3 years of experience or equivalent competency mentoring researchers
- Demonstrated expertise in survey design, instrumentation and analysis
- Demonstrated expertise managing projects from end-to-end, both independently and with external vendors
- Demonstrated expertise collaborating with cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams to curate, plan, execute, synthesize and share market research for multiple initiatives
- Demonstrated expertise leading advanced quantitative research activities, such as conjoint analyses, key driver analyses and price sensitivity meters
- Demonstrated expertise in leading secondary research activities to explore market conditions, characteristics, trends and competitive landscape
- Demonstrated ability facilitating ideation, alignment and engagement workshops with a variety of disciplines and stakeholders
- Demonstrated expertise presenting and storytelling
- Experience mentoring and developing team members
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in in market research, business administration, sociology, statistics, psychology, marketing, or related field
- Demonstrated ability designing primary and secondary research programs using a variety of research methodologies
- Demonstrated ability building a research community of practice at scale
- Understanding of the mortgage, financial services or financial technology (FinTech) industry
Job Summary
As a Lead Market Researcher (Product Research), you'll use primary and secondary research methods to plan and execute studies that inform and inspire our product teams, improve our cross-organization collaboration and help Rocket build resonant and enduring products. You'll provide actionable insights and artifacts to drive direction and confidence in critical business decisions. As a champion of market research and product development disciplines, you'll foster a culture of research and continuous learning across the company. Recognized as an expert in your field, you spend considerable time mentoring and contributing to the market research community of practice.
Responsibilities
- Work across disciplines to identify and explore research opportunities across business areas, then size and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Participate in the collaborative development and implementation of a marketing-wide product research strategy that informs the evolution of our product strategy
- Design and conduct studies that leverage multiple research methods while maintaining the appropriate scope
- Assess project assumptions and potential bias when planning and conducting research studies, and limit those biases whenever possible
- Identify audience needs and priorities and translate those into product development recommendations.
- Gather and synthesize research findings into actionable insights and artifacts, packaged and delivered in accordance with audience needs and priorities
- Collaborate across teams (creative, product, product marketing, external agencies) to build balanced, data-driven backlogs that capitalize on market opportunities
- Shape the internal practice of market research through thought leadership
- Build strong relationships across business areas and disciplines as an evangelist of market research
- Strengthen the maturity of the market research team by mentoring and sharing best practices through dedicated feedback, collaboration, delegation and interactive learning activities
