Job Description
The Senior Director, Technology Finance will be responsible for leading a high-performing team focused on strategic planning support, value creation, and articulating the cross-functional impact of our large Technology Investment portfolio to key stakeholders and JWN executives.
Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, this individual will work directly with Technology partners and cross-functional leaders to build the path to achieve the best service for our customers in the most seamless way. This role requires an individual with strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills to develop a value creation framework, set financial/operations targets and measure the success of the organization against their KPIs. The candidate will work closely with stakeholders to translate data-driven findings into actionable insights and optimize our investment portfolio.

A day in the life…
Embrace and champion change and process improvement across finance and business
Provide coaching, context, and inspiration to the team through daily interactions, to prioritize work, lead issue resolution, and guide solutions and the team’s career development.
Lead Technology financial planning, measurement, and financial governance
Lead a team supporting the financial planning process through month end close, forecasting, budgeting and long-term planning while analyzing results ensuring execution and accountability across the business
Analyze results across Technology organization and provide recommendations on shifts in investments, identify trends and proactively communicate insights ensuring positive ROI
Track and communicate performance through reporting on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to ensure transparency and accountability
Expertise in driving ad-hoc analyses that help drive strategic decisions.
Makes insightful recommendations with a clear understanding of future implications and consideration of scenarios and alternatives
Partner with executive management, cross-functional partners, and key stakeholders to anticipate and proactively address future business changes
Anticipate changes to trends and patterns to influence change across a diverse set of leaders with a high degree of ambiguity.
Build, develop, and foster an efficient and effective team of finance professionals
You own this if you have…
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required; MBA preferred
12+ years of experience in finance or economics with scope and accountability progression
Strong team leader with a passion for teaching early and mid-career professionals
Skilled with corporate metrics and analytical methods
Experienced in driver-based model building that is scalable and flexible
Proficiency in MS Office suite
Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively with all levels of management
Highly collaborative and comfortable dealing with ambiguity, influencing across multiple complex organizations, creating effective internal business partnerships
