Position Overview:

***This hybrid role requires primarily on-site work at our Innovation Center in San Francisco.***

Responsible for advancing concepts, opportunities and investments to leverage Sutter’s leading-edge venture and investment strategy. Working closely with innovation and finance teams, enables the full lifecycle of key innovation partnerships and equity investments: theme development, internal strategy development with key stakeholders, concept creation, partner identification, business plan development, approvals, measurement & evaluation.

EDUCATION:

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma

• Bachelor’s in business, marketing, or a related field

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:    

• 8 years recent relevant experience.

• Strong data analysis and synthesis skills to interpret industry trends and translate them into strategic insights.

• Experience working closely with finance, treasury and legal teams to support deal flow management, screening, diligence, building investment theses for potential portfolio companies. 

• Strong background in business case development, including financial analysis, competitive research, and value assessment.

• Experience collaborating with finance, legal, innovation, and executive leadership teams to align on strategic priorities.

• Familiarity with post-investment management, including integration strategies, milestone tracking, and performance evaluation.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Strong understanding of the healthcare industry and familiarity with healthcare investments

• Analytical thinker, strong attention to detail and excellent communication and writing skills. 

• The ideal candidate would have both exceptional quantitative and qualitative skills (e.g. excel modeling, drafting business rationale, executive presentations, etc.)

• Self-starter with a high degree of intellectual curiosity, strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent program management and organization skills.  Proven track record of managing multiple priorities effectively.

• Ability to lead with humility and work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.

Pay Range is $85.74 to $137.19 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package. ​
