Overview
Join a dynamic team that's building the future of Multnomah County!
Our Facilities and Property Management Interiors Group is looking for an Interior Construction Project Manager who thrives on bringing spaces to life. In this role, you won't just manage projects; you'll be a key player in transforming the work environments for thousands of dedicated public servants across the county.
This is a chance to use your expertise in commercial construction, interior design, and project management to make a tangible, positive impact. You'll oversee exciting tenant improvement projects, from start to finish, including space planning, technology integration, and move coordination. Your ability to handle multiple projects at once, coupled with a keen eye for detail in areas like furniture inventory, standards documentation, and invoice processing, will be essential to our success. If you're ready to lead projects that directly improve the daily lives of our employees and the community, we can't wait to see what you'll build with us
Our Commitment to Safety, Trust and Belonging: Multnomah County, the most populous county in Oregon, is home to over 800,000 residents and responsible for providing a wide array of services to our diverse communities in an equitable and inclusive way. We are committed to developing, nurturing and continually improving workforce equity by identifying and addressing the structural and policy barriers to equal employment opportunity faced by our employees and communities. County employees across the organization have stepped forward to develop a strategic plan and help create a workplace where everyone can reach their full potential.
Essential Job Duties:
Project Management, Design & Administration
As a project manager, you will thoughtfully guide our interior improvement projects from the initial idea to move-in day, partnering closely with clients to turn their vision into a concrete plan. Your role will blend creative design with practical coordination as you create space layouts, manage construction and moving details, and handle administrative duties. We believe that great design should be inclusive and sustainable, so you will have the opportunity to create spaces that are not only functional but also welcoming and accessible to everyone, using principles of equity, sustainability, and trauma-informed design to build a better environment for our staff and community
Contract Management & Oversight
You will bring projects to a successful conclusion by ensuring they are closed out in a thorough and complete manner. This critical process includes the full capture and recording of project documents, data, analytics, and drawings. As part of this, you will provide updated occupant information and CAD drawings to the Building Data Management Center for capturing in the Computer-Aided Facilities Management system. Additionally, you will contribute to the maintenance of the physical record of current interior finishes standards and the furniture standards catalog.
Compliance & QA/QC
As a project manager, your dedication to quality assurance will be a prime duty, ensuring projects are delivered according to best practices and with the highest standards of safety for our staff, contractors, and the public. You will collaborate with County operations teams and local planning departments by reviewing plans and specifications, performing on-site inspections, and ensuring all work complies with County standards and applicable building codes. You will serve as a subject matter expert, contributing to strategic planning, supporting the efficient use of space, and assisting with important architectural design reviews and capacity studies to uphold the integrity of our programs and initiatives.
