Our team of researchers lead key internationally competitive research from molecules to medicines, from patient to policy across a range of therapeutic areas.   

The Neurotherapeutics group pursues novel approaches for understanding and treating neurological disorders focusing on dopamine dynamics. Current projects are based on pathology of Parkinson’s disease and neurobiology of addiction. We apply neural modulation techniques such as optogenetics, chemogenetics, pharmacological manipulation. The team is currently seeking a research assistant to conduct a range of in vivo techniques, including stereotaxic surgery, animal care, behavioural analysis, and tissue-processing.

About you

  • bacherlor's degree in Neuroscience, Biomedical Science, Psychology, or related discipline

  • perform stereotaxic intra-cranial surgery and post-surgical monitoring on rodents

  • conduct transcardial perfusions of rodents and brain tissue extraction independently

  • assist with laboratory management tasks relevant for the research project (e.g., ordering of chemicals and reagents for the immunohistochemical analyses, disposal of chemical waste).

  • laboratory management skills

  • demonstrated experience working in a PC2 containment laboratory with strong knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice.

  • demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
