Job Description
AECOM is seeking a skilled and motivated Architectural/Structural (A/S) Project Manager to lead and oversee architectural and structural aspects of construction projects. This role is critical in confirming project success through meticulous planning, coordination, and execution. The ideal candidate will bring expertise, leadership, and a commitment to excellence to deliver projects that meet and exceed client expectations.
Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
- Manage and oversee all architectural and structural aspects of construction projects, confirming alignment with design intent, quality standards, and project requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and consultants to resolve design conflicts, improve constructability, and integrate project components seamlessly.
- Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and contract documents to confirm accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with building codes.
- Conduct site inspections to assess progress, verify compliance with approved designs, and address construction challenges.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets for architectural and structural work, confirming timely execution and cost control.
- Support structural testing, inspections, and regulatory compliance to confirm safety and quality standards are met.
- Assist in enforcing labor standards at the project site, verifying compliance with wage rates and apprenticeship programs.
- Manage RFIs, change orders, and design modifications related to architectural and structural elements, confirming proper documentation and approvals.
- Facilitate project closeout by confirming completion of all architectural and structural work, final inspections, and handover documentation.
- Experience with P100 and code compliance requirements
- Experience working in and around historic properties
- Experience working on GSA managed construction projects.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS in Architecture, Structural Engineering, or a related field + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- 4 years of experience in project management or a related role.
Preferred Requirements
- Strong knowledge of architectural and structural systems, construction contracts, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working on GSA-managed construction projects.
- Experience with P100 and code compliance requirements.
- Experience working in and around historic properties.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in GSA project management tools and software.
- Certified Construction Management or Project Management Professional or Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, or AIA Certification
- OSHA 10-Hour Training.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with large-scale or government construction projects.
- Proven ability to manage and resolve design and construction challenges effectively.
- Experience with sustainable design and construction practices.
