What you'll do...

Licensed Electrician Trainer Position Summary The Licensed Electrician Trainer designs and delivers electrical training programs for new hires and existing General Maintenance Technicians supporting Walmart and Sam’s Club facilities, as well as technicians supporting contracted external business services. This role teaches introductory electrical fundamentals through licensed-level electrical coursework, with a strong emphasis on safety, code compliance, and consistent field execution. Must live around or relocate to Bentonville, AR. Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver training (introductory through licensed-level): Teach electrical theory, practical application, troubleshooting, and repair techniques aligned to technician role requirements.
  • Safety-first instruction: Lead safety training as a top priority, including hazard recognition, safe work practices, and jobsite risk mitigation.
  • Curriculum development: Create and maintain lesson plans, instructor guides, student materials, hands-on lab activities, and assessments for multiple skill levels.
  • Onboarding and upskilling: Train new hires and provide continuing education for existing General Maintenance Technicians.
  • Train Walmart and SAMs Club technicians, as well as technicians supporting other businesses: Provide consistent training standards for Walmart/Sam’s Club technicians and technicians supporting other businesses.
  • Hands-on lab and field simulation: Set up and supervise practical exercises (e.g., wiring methods, panel work, motor controls, diagnostics) ensuring safe tool and equipment use.
  • Assess competency: Evaluate learner performance through written tests, skills demonstrations, and on-the-job readiness checks; document results and recommend remediation plans.
  • Compliance and code alignment: Ensure training content reflects applicable electrical codes/standards and safe work requirements.
  • Training logistics: Coordinate schedules, rosters, training resources, and equipment needs; maintain training records and completion tracking.
  • Continuous improvement: Gather feedback, analyze performance trends, and update training to address recurring field issues, safety incidents, or new equipment/standards.
  • Stakeholder partnership: Collaborate with maintenance leadership, safety partners, and operations teams to align training with business needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Active electrician license (journeyman or master, as applicable to the role and location requirements).
  • Demonstrated experience performing electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in commercial/industrial environments.
  • Proven ability to teach, coach, or mentor technicians (formal training experience preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical safety practices and jobsite risk controls.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to learners with varied experience levels.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience training multi-skill maintenance teams (HVAC/R, controls, mechanical) in a facilities environment.
  • Experience developing curriculum, assessments, and hands-on lab exercises.
  • Familiarity with training delivery methods (classroom, virtual, blended learning).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E, train-the-trainer), where applicable.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements (Adjust as needed)
