The Opportunity
The purpose of this role is to investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex and high severity claims cyber and Tech E&O within the Financial Lines line of business. This involves managing a portfolio of claims and collaborating effectively with various internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
Your Role
Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse portfolio of high-severity cyber and Tech E&O claims, conducting investigations and interpreting insurance contracts effectively and efficiently.
- Evaluate and negotiate the resolution of claims promptly, within appropriate authority and in compliance with laws and regulations.
- Drive the highest level of customer care and satisfaction to deliver superior claim outcomes.
- Collaborate with external counsel to formulate litigation strategy for desired outcomes.
- Direct and manage external advisors and vendors, including legal professionals and consultants.
- Analyse and determine appropriate case reserves on all claim files for actuarial accuracy.
- Represent the organisation in industry seminars and author articles on relevant subjects.
- Collaborate with Underwriters to address novel or complex risks and negotiate terms effectively.
- Take ownership of personal development and career planning to add value to the organisation continually.
- Manage budgeted resources effectively to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibility.
Work Experience:
Necessary Work Experience includes:
- 3-5+ years handling complex first party cyber claims, data breach class actions, wrongful collection and Tech E&O claims.
Preferred Work Experience includes:
- Experience handling a diverse portfolio of claims.
Qualifications:
Necessary Qualifications include:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Relevant insurance qualifications
Preferred Qualifications include:
- J.D. strongly preferred
Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
