Job Summary

The College of Applied Science and Technology invites applications for the position of Director in the School of Information Technology (IT). We are seeking a dynamic, collaborative director to lead a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in the school, which include Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, and Computer Networking. The Director is responsible for strategic leadership, fiscal management, curriculum development and review, personnel recruitment, enrollment management, school accreditations, assessment, advancement, and oversight of the teaching and research laboratories. The Director will encourage and support high quality research, teaching, and service, and advocate for the resources needed to sustain the School's mission and vision. The Director will develop and maintain partnerships within and outside the university, as well as promote the School's programs to alumni, businesses, government agencies, and other educational institutions.

Salary, Rank and Tenure: The position is a twelve-month tenure track appointment. The salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive comprehensive benefits package is included.

Additional Information

The School of Information Technology at Illinois State University has 25 tenured and tenure-track faculty, approximately 950 undergraduate students, and 40 graduate students. The school offers undergraduate majors in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, and Computer Networking. At the graduate level, the school offers a Master of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Information Systems with four sequences. The school additionally offers an accelerated undergraduate sequence, two undergraduate minors, and five graduate certificate programs. The Computer Science and Information Systems undergraduate programs are accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, and the Cybersecurity program by the NSA/DHS as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyberdefense Education.
