Position Overview

This internship is designed to expose an individual to the intricacies of a corporate Learning & Development (L&D) Department. The intern will collaborate with the L&D Team to revise and create coursework and reference material. Additionally, the intern will have classroom, in-person and virtual, experiences assisting instructors.

The following are the essential functions of the position.  These functions are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required.

Essential Job Functions

  • Garner a cursory understanding of company guidelines, products, and services
  • Attend team meetings and instructor led training sessions
  • Assist with updating, revising, and publishing of course content using Microsoft Office programs and/or other platforms such as Speechelo and Articulate
  • Assist with reorganization of online content library (Shelf)
  • Identify methods to increase class engagement and interest to improve overall training impact
  • Will support the preparation and production of virtual and in-person instructor led trainings
  • Participate in Intern Project: Create a lesson with other interns highlighting teaching methods and content creation platforms learned during the internship

Required Knowledge, Skills & Ability

  • Versatile

  • Reading, writing, typing and computing skills necessary to do the job
  • Interpersonal and communication skills – listening, speaking and writing skills
  • Ability to work on a team and independently on projects and tasks
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Willingness to follow company policies and procedures
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Demonstrated organization skills and ability with a strong attention to detail

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree candidate with minimum of one (1) year of college completed
  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA
