Summer 2026 Internship Program –  Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) – Industrial Hygiene Focus

We are currently looking for a Safety, Health & Environment Intern focused on Industrial Hygiene at our Princeton, NJ office.

 

The 2026 dsm-firmenich Summer Internship Program will run from June 1, 2026 to August 14, 2026.

 

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Your Key Responsibilities

• Support Industrial Hygiene activities such as exposure monitoring, documentation, and data interpretation
• Assist in the development and implementation of SHE programs and procedures
• Participate in field observations, workplace assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support SHE-related projects
• Contribute to reporting, analysis, and communication of SHE metrics

You Bring

• Currently working on completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, or a related field
• Candidates must be available to work full-time on-site beginning on June 1, 2026 to August 14, 2026.
• Strong interest in Industrial Hygiene and broader SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) topics
• Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills

 

The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour.  Compensation will be dependent on factors that include location, education, training, specific skills, and years of experience.

 

At the end of this internship, you will:

• Have gained practical, hands-on experience in Industrial Hygiene, including exposure monitoring, assessment techniques, and data interpretation.
• Understand how SHE programs are developed, implemented, and continuously improved within an operational environment.
• Have contributed to real projects that enhance workplace safety, health, and environmental performance.
• Be familiar with regulatory expectations, corporate SHE processes, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Have expanded your technical skills, professional network, and readiness for a career in Industrial Hygiene or the broader SHE field.
