About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, Public Policy to join Riot Platforms, a leader in Bitcoin mining and cryptocurrency infrastructure. This highly strategic role will be instrumental in developing and executing policy strategies that align with Riot’s business objectives and drive meaningful engagement with government entities. This is a remote role; however, the individual must reside in either DC or Austin, TX. 

Essential Functions

• Develop and implement public policy strategies that align with Riot’s organizational goals and long-term vision. 
• Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments at local, state, and federal levels, providing insights on potential impacts to the business. 
• Conduct policy analysis and prepare strategic recommendations for senior leadership to inform decision-making. 
• Advocate for Riot’s positions with government officials, regulatory agencies, and key industry stakeholders. 
• Build and maintain bipartisan relationships with policymakers, industry associations, and advocacy groups to promote Riot’s interests. 
• Coordinate and participate in meetings, hearings, and events related to Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, and energy policy. 
• Prepare executives for public testimony, media engagements, and policy discussions. 
• Develop and manage relationships with Political Action Committees (PACs) and design a strategic political giving framework. 
• Collaborate with grassroots organizations and industry advocates to build coalitions that support Riot’s policy goals. 
• Represent Riot in trade associations and industry forums, positioning company leaders as thought leaders. 
• Lead internal alignment on policy priorities, ensuring cohesive strategies across business units. 
• Track and report on policy activities and outcomes to demonstrate progress and impact. 
• Develop and execute grassroots advocacy campaigns to enhance community engagement. 
• Provide training and support to internal stakeholders on public policy matters. 
• Stay current on emerging trends, best practices, and innovations in public policy. 
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards.
