Your Responsibilities
As a Staff Systems Engineer - Ethernet Infrastructure for Intelligent Solutions Group Urbandale, located in Urbandale, IA, you will:
- This role exists to provide strategic technology leadership and systems engineering for the advancement of Ethernet Communication design, capabilities, methods and tools in support of the overall enterprise strategy.
- Partner with enterprise network Architects on technology roadmap and lead the system engineering of Ethernet capabilities into the ISG Infrastructure and Tech Stack ecosystem for design and delivery of product ready solutions.
- Explore concepts, identify solutions, and integrate with stakeholders to develop and demonstrate new and revised Ethernet communication methods into production capable, enterprise-wide solutions.
- Ensure system wide design implementation for Ethernet capabilities across the Ecosystem of tools for design, authoring, test and validation, factory and service.
- Integrate across domains to ensure process and tools align with producers and consumers across the tech stack and production systems.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert and POC for Ethernet communication design. As a subject matter expert, teach and mentor development teams in principles and application
- Champion the use of systems engineering methods and tools to ensure a robust and documented design and implementation.

What Skills You Need
- High knowledge and 6 or more years of embedded software development, electrical systems design to be able to lead the strategy definition and system engineering execution for this role. Combinations of experience in these areas will be considered.
- Must be able to lead the design, implementation and verification of vehicle communication networks, specifically Ethernet and CAN protocols. Able to manage complex functions as a design expert.
- Has deep technical knowledge and experience with networks design including standards, protocols, communication stacks, analysis tools, verification/validation methods.
- Experience leading engineering design efforts and collaborating successfully with diverse functional groups and engineering teams.
- Willing and able to lead change, influence without authority, and communicate effectively up, down and across the organization.
What Makes You Stand Out
- High degree of experience and knowledge of Ethernet onboard vehicle communication.
- Systems Engineering education, training or demonstrated capability
- Experience across multiple product lines and machine subsystems
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, computer science or other related discipline with experience
