The primary duties of the Product Quality Team Lead at PowerSecure is to lead the day-to-day operations of the Phase 1 (In
Process), Phase 2 (Performance Testing) or Phase 3 (Closeout) Quality Control functions to ensure that the manufactured
equipment is compliant with pre-approved standards, designs, and NEC/UL requirements to deliver an overall high quality
Switchgear Product. The individual will be responsible for leading the Level 1, Level 2, and Senior Switchgear Product Quality
Control Technicians. The individual will be involved with providing and facilitating resources to accomplish Product Development
efforts and customer witness tests.
Qualification Requirements
This position leads the Quality Control work centers functions related to Switchgear systems at the DI Campus. In order, to perform
this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Complete Switchgear Product Quality Control operations per schedule dates.
- Monitor budgeted utilization rates established by leadership.
- Monitor labor efficiency and individual technician’s Key Performance Indicators.
- Maintaining an organized and functioning work areas.
- Ensure all employees meet the defined Quality Management System.
- Provide performance feedback and training to employees on a regular schedule.
- Ensure that nonconformances have been completed and documented per the PowerSecure procedures.
- Ensure shop orders have been completed in our ERP system and are documented per the PowerSecure procedures.
- Experience working with Switchgear or Generators.
- Experience working with an ERP system preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- NFPA70E is required (Can be provided by PowerSecure if other requirements are satisfactory
- Minimum 2 years’ experience Inspecting or Testing in a Manufacturing Environment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents: mechanical and electrical drawings, work instructions, and written directions.
- Ability to use the computer and enter information in database. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Legally authorized to work in the US on an on-going basis without company sponsorship.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Understanding of electrical schematics and ability to interpret mechanical drawings.
- Administer procedural tests in an organized format for all functions of gear types.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to lead and coordinate group of employees.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Experience working with an ERP system preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Team leaders will be responsible for Switchgear Product Quality Control Level 1, Level 2, and Senior Technicians in their
assigned workcenters.
Essential Functions
- A working understanding NFPA, NEC, UL, and other power generation and switchgear controls.
- Experience with UL (Underwriters Laboratory) listings and classification – UL891 Dead-Front Switchboards, 1008 Transfer
- Switches, 508A Industrial Control Panels, Medium Voltage Switchgear, 1558 Low-Voltage Enclosed Switchboards, 1973
- Batteries for Use in Stationary, Vehicle Auxiliary Power Applications, and 1741 Inverters, Converters, Controllers and
- Interconnection System Equipment for use with Distributed Energy Resources.
- Maintain the Product Quality Control schedules.
- Ensure safe work practices are being trained on and followed.
- Monitor Technician Key Performance Indicators.
- Administer and document results of Technician Procedures
- Maintain organized and efficient work environment.
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
- Frequently lift and move electrical equipment and materials.
- Limited travel will be required. Less than 5%
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and to position oneself in various positions including low to the ground or high
up on equipment. - Manipulate heavy test equipment and cables.
- Operate hand and power tools.
- Able to lift to 50 pounds frequently.
