AtkinsRéalis is seeking a HVAC and Building Services Engineer Intern to join our Exton, PA office.

Our office in Exton, PA is responsible for managing design projects including mechanical, electrical, plumbing / fire protection, and process disciplines within industrial, biotech, pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries. We are a team of multi-discipline engineers and designers who work together in collaboration on new building and upgrades to existing facilities. There has never been a better time to join our team.
Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform basic drafting in 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D (Revit) to acquire the necessary CAD skills and applicable software knowledge to support the technical services of the company.
- Acquire knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems.
- Develop familiarity with CAD software and related equipment and procedures.
- Enter basic data, as instructed, such as measurements and commands, to generate construction drawings, renderings, report graphics and other digital images.
- Edit existing designs, following detailed instructions.
- Make minor mathematical calculations.
- Check drawings to verify completeness, clarity, and accuracy, and present to supervisor for review.
- Take on-line software training programs and read manuals and other instructional materials to develop familiarity with CAD products and company/departmental procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of graphic displays and presentation materials.
- Perform such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
- Project site visits to assist Engineer with surveys.
- Provide administrative and operations support.
- Complete Quality Management Training and comply with the program upholding a commitment to a culture of quality in all aspects of work.
QUALIFICATIONS
- EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required.
- EDUCATION: Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in one of the following or similar:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Architectural Engineering
- SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Microsoft Excel and Word
- Good interpersonal skills
- Capable of developing technical writing
- Good communications skills
- AutoCAD or Revit is a plus.
- Carrier HAP or Trane Trace, Bluebeam, Navisworks is a plus.
