Job Description:

What’s the role 

 

The Demand Response Market Analyst is responsible for settlement analytics and reporting of operational market activity for a portfolio of wind, solar, battery, and demand response assets across multiple markets in North America. Processes in scope include enrolments, settlement impact analysis, bilateral settlements, trade valuation, complex billing, and analysis of bid/offer structures and scheduling for SES owned and customer owned assets. This role will also support SES’s expansion into North American power markets, including PJM, ISONE, CAISO, and NYISO. 

 

Reporting to the Demand Response Manager, the role requires a self-motivated, dedicated, and responsible individual with the ability to perform well under pressure. 

 

Accountabilities: 

  • Manage settlement, billing reconciliations, and financial analysis of operational activities for SES assets as help with enrollments in demand response programs 

  • Perform settlement activities for multiple markets to include verification of volumes, rates, and charges both for ISO and bilateral transactions 

  • Learn and stay current on market changes and impact on demand response settlements 

  • Provide timelyaccurate daily and monthly statements to customers. 

  • Interface with Management to provide timely and accurate reporting results 

  • Support business development activities and other project analysis through market Expertise 

  • Design and document procedures for internal controls, procedures, and policies around settlement and departmental activities 

  • Ability to communicate verbally and written in a professional and courteous manner 

  • Demonstrate time management skills through strategic analysis and implementation of process improvements 

  • Other duties as assigned 

 

What you bring  

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Economics; advanced degree preferred 

  • At least 5 years of experience in Demand Response or Wholesale Settlements, including 3 years of supervisory experience and 2 years of settlement and enrollment work across multiple demand response markets 

  • Ability to create shared vision, inspire collaboration, and drive change with momentum 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills must be able to provide timely and accurate data analysis 

  • Strong business writing skills and experience developing communication in various formats 

  • Strong interpersonal skills
