Job Description

Coffman Engineers is seeking an engineer who is passionate about their craft, wants to work on a high-functioning team, and looking for an environment that promotes professional growth. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, have a desire to work and grow with a multi-discipline engineering team, and be willing to have fun.   

The ideal candidate will have a work history that includes management or oversight of individuals performing acoustical consulting services for external and internal clients utilizing acoustical engineering technical skills. Experience with reverberation time, noise control, environmental noise, sound level measurements, vibration analysis and measurements, architectural acoustics design and modeling software. Experience with mechanical noise control methodologies such as ASHRAE are useful. Strong interest in the science of sound, noise, and vibration is required. This opportunity is for the candidate who can work well as a team player in a growing new acoustical group that works on projects across the world for a variety of clients.

The position is hybrid where the staff are in-person three days a week (minimum) and have the option to work remotely two days a week. The optional remote workdays of the week are currently Thursday and Friday. These guidelines are reassessed periodically. 

In This Role You Will:

  • Evaluating and developing solutions to noise and vibration control problems
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering design team to incorporate design and detailing appropriate for acoustical purposes.
  • Acoustical modeling, analysis, and testing
  • Drafting reports, letters, and other documents summarizing results and recommendations
  • Project schedule and budget management

    This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

Expected Salary Range: $65,000 - $99,000

  • Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate.
  • Competitive end of year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance.
  • Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change).
  • 401k with maximum of 5% Contribution Matching for 9% Employee Contribution

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in a technical field related to Acoustics (Acoustical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Electrical Engineering, etc.)
  • Higher Degree such as Masters or Ph.D. (preferred)
  • Analytical and Technical Skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
