About the role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing various accounting functions, including fixed assets, payroll, paid time off accrual, inventory, cost accounting, account analysis, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including the Sunshine Act. This position requires a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Fixed Assets:
- Maintain the fixed asset ledger, ensuring accurate and timely capitalization and depreciation of assets.
- Conduct periodic physical inventories of fixed assets and reconcile with the ledger.
- Prepare reports on fixed assets, including asset additions, disposals, and transfers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards related to fixed assets.
Inventory:
- Oversee the accounting for inventory, ensuring accurate recording of inventory transactions.
- Assist with periodic and annual physical inventory counts and reconcile with accounting records.
- Analyze inventory variances and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Prepare inventory reports and assist in the valuation of inventory for financial reporting purposes.
Cost Accounting:
- Analyze and monitor cost variances and provide insights to management.
- Assist in the preparation of cost accounting reports, including product costing, margin analysis, and profitability.
- Ensure accurate allocation of costs to products and services.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes with cost-related data.
Payroll and Paid Time Off (PTO) Accrual:
- Prepare month end payroll accruals.
- Reconcile payroll accounts (liabilities and expenses) and resolve discrepancies.
- Reconcile PTO accounts and address any discrepancies.
Account Analysis:
- Perform detailed account reconciliation and analysis for various general ledger accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in account balances and transactions.
- Prepare month-end and year-end closing entries and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger and ensure all accounts are balanced and appropriately recorded.
Compliance:
- Ensure all accounting activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and internal policies.
- Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations and implement necessary updates to accounting processes.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with the Sunshine Act, including the accurate reporting of applicable financial transactions and interactions with healthcare providers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including experience with fixed assets, payroll, inventory, and cost accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
