Position Overview
The Medical Laboratory Supervisor oversees daily laboratory operations and performs advanced diagnostic testing across hematology, microbiology, chemistry, pathology, and blood bank disciplines. This role supports high-quality patient care through accurate specimen analysis, laboratory quality assurance, equipment oversight, and collaboration with clinical teams.
In addition to hands-on laboratory responsibilities, this position provides operational leadership for laboratory and radiology personnel while helping maintain regulatory compliance, patient safety, and clinical readiness standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing on blood, tissue, urine, stool, cerebrospinal fluid, and other biological specimens
- Prepare and process pathology samples, cultures, and slides for diagnostic review and analysis
- Oversee laboratory quality control, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and daily workflow operations
- Accurately document, interpret, and report laboratory findings in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with physicians, pathologists, and healthcare teams to support timely patient diagnosis and treatment
- Support administrative oversight and coordination for laboratory and radiology staff
- Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant laboratory environment following established protocols and safety standards
- Participate in emergency response activities, Mass Casualty (MASCAL) exercises, and required compliance training programs
Qualifications
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of recent Medical Laboratory Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician experience, including at least 6 months within the past year
- MLS (ASCP)cm certification or eligibility required
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience performing laboratory testing in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, pathology, and blood bank settings
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, laboratory equipment, and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and maintain accurate clinical documentation
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required with ability to obtain and maintain MRPT security clearance
- Ability to meet deployment-related medical screening requirements, relocate internationally, and maintain a valid U.S. passport with at least 18 months prior to expiration
- Ability to work prolonged periods standing or sitting and lift up to 25 lbs. as needed

- Previous laboratory leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience supporting military or government healthcare environments
