It is essential.</p><p> </p><p>The Product Area and The Team</p><p>As a Software Engineer, you will become part of the Transactions product area within SimCorp's Product Division, responsible for delivering functionality that enables clients to make investment decisions with our back-office applications.</p><p>The Transactions product area is one of the core areas in SimCorp Dimension® and it is an excellent opportunity to grow into both business side of financial instruments as well as software engineering in a highly skilled, highly diverse, at the same time highly helpful and supportive work environment.</p><p>Currently it consists of three teams, each with five to seven software engineers across several geographical locations, and you will join a new fourth team.</p><p> </p><p>Why it is important for us</p><p>Private Debt is booming in the market and we see a high demand from our existing and potential clients. Consequently, SimCorp has decided to implement an efficient and attractive solution to support this new part of illiquid investments as well.</p><p>To make this exciting project a reality, we are growing within the Transactions product area and building a new team whose primary focus will be Private Debt. We are seeking curious, courageous, and capable professionals who are ready to create innovative, efficient, and attractive offerings.</p><p>This journey will involve trial and error, improvisation, and adaptation. If you thrive in such an environment, we want to hear from you.</p><p>As part of our scrum team, you will play a crucial role in delivering solutions for Private Debt and Transactions while working closely with Product Owners and engaging directly with clients. You will work with a codebase primarily based on APL and C# with the potential of extending our tech stack to new programming languages in the future, in a culture that values trust and teamwork.</p><p> </p><p>What you will be responsible for:</p><p>You will apply your talents to all stages of the development lifecycle , including creation and review of user stories, development, design, testing, coding, code reviews, writing automated tests, and support. You will be using multiple technologies, and your responsibilities will also include:</p><ul><li>Develop new core functionality to support the business modules and continuous improvements to the existing code base</li><li>Expand existing solutions in all areas of SimCorp Dimension for the usage of Private Debt and Transactions</li><li>Work as part of your scrum team to reach the definition of done within each sprint</li><li>Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and get fast feedback</li><li>Constantly learn and improve yourself, the team and our product incl. experimenting with modern engineering practices such as test-driven development, SpecFlow, etc.</li></ul><p> </p><p>What we value:</p><ul><li>Ability to work with and develop complex architecture front and back end</li><li>Comfortable with changing code from other product areas.</li><li>Genuine willingness to learn and to dig into unknown areas</li><li>Being comfortable working with new technologies</li><li>Being adventurous - able to work in one direction and fast turn into another one</li><li>A high sense of quality, ability to work to deadlines, attention to detail and taking ownership of delivering a sound solution</li><li>A desire to constantly deliver value to the clients, to improve yourself and the team</li><li>Good communication skills and fluency in English (spoken and written)</li><li>Understanding the Lean Agile practices, values and principles allow you to better understand how we work</li><li>SimCorp Dimension knowledge, especially in pricing and accounting is a plus</li><li>Additional qualifications for a specialist in coding:<ul><li>Knowledge of or curiosity to learn APL</li><li>Programming experience in object-oriented languages, especially in C# using .NET framework</li></ul></li><li>Additional qualifications for a specialist in Quality Assurance:<ul><li>Experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst and automated testing</li><li>Basic knowledge or curiosity to learn programming languages like C# to be
