Boeing is hiring a Director of Engineering to strengthen and grow Boeing Engineering Korea. This leader will own in‑country engineering integration and coordination across business units, build and manage an in‑country engineering management team, and create a strong sense of identity, belonging and career opportunity for Boeing engineers in Korea. The role combines people leadership, workforce planning, cross‑BU program coordination, and close collaboration with Boeing’s global engineering, workforce operations, finance and quality systems to ensure efficient, high‑quality delivery of engineering work and sustainable growth.

This is a Long-Term Assignment to Seoul, Korea up to 3 years. Relocation/assignment benefits to the international location will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visible country leadership as the primary Boeing Engineering executive in Korea, representing Boeing internally and to external partners and stakeholders.

  • Build, lead and mentor an in‑country management team responsible for engineering people development, performance management, promotions, compensation, occupational health, university and industry relationships, and intern programs.

  • Establish the infrastructure and operating model for Engineering/Workforce Operations and Business Operations in‑country, including staffing ramp‑up, retention strategies, resource coordination, and functional alignment.

  • Create and promote a cohesive Boeing Engineering Korea identity and culture that fosters belonging, engagement, and professional development for engineers.

  • Coordinate cross‑business unit (BU) activities to balance scopes of work (SOW), maximize utilization, and create career development pathways across BUs

  • Identify and enable synergies across BUs to make joint projects possible

  • Leverage Boeing’s global engineering infrastructure: align local activities with global strategy, talent development and rotation programs, integrated metrics, overhead and finance processes, QMS, and lessons learned.

  • Lead involvement in government‑funded and other collaborative projects that include country‑wide and global talent participation.

  • Provide stability and long term vision to existing Boeing employees , improving retention and morale through transparent communications and visible investment.

  • Drive continuous improvement of processes, metrics, and tools to measure utilization, delivery quality, and workforce effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven senior leadership experience in engineering organizations, with direct experience building and leading engineering management teams.

  • Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, resource management, and cross‑functional coordination across multiple business units or disciplines.

  • Strong people leadership skills: talent development, performance management, compensation decisions, and internship/early‑career program management.

  • Experience coordinating with global corporate functions (finance, HR, QMS, program management) to deploy consistent operating models and metrics locally.

  • Track record of creating organizational identity and culture in a geographically distributed or newly established engineering site.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills — able to represent the company to universities, industry partners, government bodies, and funding consortiums.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience integrating multi‑disciplinary engineering teams (systems, structures, avionics, software, AI, etc.).

  • Experience and familiarity with BCA Product development

  • Experience leading cross‑BU initiatives and realizing synergies between product development, services, and research organizations.
