Sr Supervisor, Manufacturing Operations

This Sr. Supervisor, Manufacturing Operations is responsible for working with the front-line supervisors to better align process, approach and delivery of results across core business functions. Working with front line supervisors on refining standard operating procedures, developing people managing skills and assisting the manager on higher level business functions
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to company policies and process standards, while maintaining employee morale and overseeing the training of new and existing staff
- Work with manager to establish department and company goals and rely on experience, managerial judgment, and innovation to achieve them
- Drive process improvements and coordinate new product introductions
- Act as liaison between shifts, supervisors and departments, and partner with vendor / customer / client representatives
- Accomplish supervisory and human resource objectives such as hiring, performing performance reviews and mentoring / coaching and disciplinary actions
- Review Tableau reports to ensure that the dept is attaining the desired performance metrics and work with the leaders to identify and mitigate any risks to the customer schedules
- Drive engagement across area of responsibility and work with the team to foster a strong engage culture. Review peakon scores with leaders and create action plans within the tool to help improve engagement with the team
- Meet production operational standards by implementing production, productivity, and quality standards
- Work with the site leadership to assist in resolving problems and identifying process improvements
- Participate in operational improvement initiatives at the site
- Meet production financial standards by controlling and minimizing production expenses
- Coach/mentor other supervisors and leads.
- Maintain flow of operations by communicating production status, requirements, and problems to the off shifts
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures while complying with legal regulations
- Oversee the operation activities, drive communication within the team, and manage the supervisors for their areas of responsibility.
- In the event of a safety or security issue within the facility the Sr Supervisor, Operations will assume ownership of the situation and will escalate to the appropriate Management when necessary
Basic Qualifications
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership / supervisory role within a fast-paced, high volume, manufacturing environment similar to Assurant, York, Lewisville or Tennessee facility
- Intermediate to Advance MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced, dynamic assembly and logistics environment
- Requires strong leadership, mentoring, organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment and be a self-starter.
- Must be able to function with minimal supervision and be able to prioritize all work tasks
- May be required to work across multiple shifts
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience in a warehouse, distribution, shipping, receiving or related environment required
- Demonstrated experience with direct supervision and coaching of others
- Must be able to develop/mentor/coach first level supervisors on Performance Management
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to successfully interface with technical and non-technical personnel such as inspectors, designers, buyers, vendors, manufacturing personnel, and management
- High energy professional with the ability to establish and maintain effective business relationships with all suppliers and vendors
- Strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with problem solving, brainstorming sessions, strategy development and conflict resolution
- Driven, goal-oriented, never confuses effort with results
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- May be required to work across multiple shifts
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience leading other supervisors
- Experience working with a Lean and Six Sigma environment

Pay Range:
$63,400.00 - $105,800.00Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
