Job Description
AECOM has an excellent career opportunity for a creative, highly talented Assistant Project Manager for immediate employment in our Boston, MA location which serves as our home office to support programs throughout the US and internationally.
In this position s/he will assist in the development of task order proposals; support the management team in tracking task budgets, monitoring activity schedules, and implementing product quality standards; and otherwise support the Project and Program Managers. The Assistant Project Manager will assist in the management of technical and administrative staff on a wide variety of complex projects worldwide.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- In partnership with the Project Manager, you will assist in leading the project team (Architects & Engineers), or multiple teams in the delivery of a wide range of projects
- Ensuring project completion within budget, schedule and in conformance with specifications
- Reviewing contracts and sub-contracts and assisting to manage subcontractors
- Monitoring project financials and reporting to the Project Manager
- Assist in leading calls with project team and preparing meeting minutes
- Assist with client meetings and preparing meeting minutes
- Developing and maintaining design schedules for approval
- Resolving client review comments with the project team
- Assist in preparing project design review presentation.
- Maintain action items and request for information to the client
- Resolving field-initiated questions with the technical design team
- Coordinating and directing activities among the design groups
- Participating and attending design review meetings and recording meeting minutes and tracking action items
- Coordinating the development of project deliverables with the design team
- Participating in building and maintaining a positive client relationship
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering + 4 years of related experience and/or education
- Professional registration license, (or ability to obtain with one year)
- Experience in developing design reports, drawings, and specifications
- Proficient in MS Suite, SharePoint and remote communications applications such as Teams, Zoom, etc.
- Experience in managing subcontractors
- Experience in services during construction, including answering RFI’s and reviewing submittals
- Due to the nature of this work, US Citizenship only is required
- Ability to Travel 5-10%
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License and must be able to pass AECOM's MVR.
- Valid US Passport

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DoD projects
- Professional Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (BArch) or Bachelor of Science in Architecture + Master’s degree in Architecture with 6+ years of relevant experience in design management and resolving issues or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Experience negotiating project scope, fees, managing project financial performance, and ensuring fiscal responsibility for projects through the design process.
- Revit and BIM experience as well as experience in Photoshop, Microsoft Office.
- Support projects within the last 8 years through all phases of design and construction.
- Ability to be client facing and lead client discussions.
- Security Clearance (or ability to obtain) preferred
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skills
- Skilled in oral and written communication
