POSITION SUMMARY:
The DEI Intern will assist the DEI team in the research, coordination and execution of IPG diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. The intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with a global team of professionals in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate should have a growth mindset, be passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion and have strong organizational and communication skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with the coordination and execution of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and programs.
- Conduct research on best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion and related fields.
- Assist with the execution of diversity, equity and inclusion events (e.g., Business Resource Group events), including designing event flyers.
- Assist with the preparation of presentations, reports, and other materials.
- Collaborate with various teams and departments within the organization to execute diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Provide first draft of content across social media, newsletters, and external website content.
- Manage database of DEI wins across the IPG network, including agency awards, client campaigns, DEI programs, and executive appointments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in a relevant field such as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Advertising, Organizational Development, Business, Human Resources, Marketing, Social Sciences, Organizational Development OR equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the job.
- Strong interest and passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Excellent organizational, communication and writing skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work on a variety of projects
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Strong knowledge of the MS Office Suite (word, excel and PPT).
- Strong knowledge of Project Management and Data Analytics is an asset.
The salary range for this position is $19 to $22. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
