POSITION PURPOSE:

The Cyber Security Analyst II is responsible for providing technical cyber security expertise as a member of a team supporting the North Wind Group at various projects and corporate sites. The CSA will participate in daily security operations to help create, implement and maintain a comprehensive cyber security program in an operational environment. This position performs a range of work activities including plans, schedules, and monitors own work, travel to corporate sites, oversee and assess internal corporate and project cyber security status.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and assess the implementation of Cyber Security controls to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems, networks and applications in accordance with contractual requirements, NIST guidance, industry best practices, and government policy.
  • Monitor government guidance, orders and Program Cyber Security Program Plan for Cyber Security changes.
  • Assist in Cyber Security compliance reviews and assessments.
  • Ensure IT computer and network security are in proper working order and security policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Remain informed on trends and issues in the information security industry, including
    current and emerging technologies and prices; advise, counsel, and educate executive
    and management teams on their relative importance and financial impact.
  • Define policies for the administration of all computer security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, patch management, and anti-virus software.
  • Manage and perform information security incident response and investigation activities
    as needed or requested over information security incidents and/or breaches.
  • Research, evaluate, propose and implement technical solutions to enhance risk-based decision making.
  • Provide updates and reports to the CISO of project status and cyber related risks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Associates in Information Technology, or other relevant discipline required, Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology related discipline preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in IT/Cyber Security
  • Experience in the Information Technology (IT), Computer Security field, with experience implementing cyber security solutions in diverse operating environments preferred
  • Functional understanding of IT system components such as TCP/IP, network and host-based intrusion detection and prevention, vulnerability scanning, operating systems including Windows and Unix, routers, switches, and database management systems

Skills and Abilities:

  • In depth experience and knowledge of enterprise IT concerns and technologies, including but not limited to: VPNs, network security, encryption, authentication, application-level network protocols, PKI, IPSec, Firewall, SSH, SSL, DES, IDS, wireless, Windows security/administration, LANIWAN, and TCP/IP.
  • Information security or other similar technical certifications are highly desirable.
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Must be able to work well with others as a team member
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to acquire new knowledge and learn new skil
