Family First Health is seeking a Clinical Lead for a Full-Time position in our George Street Medical location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • The Clinical Lead works closely with the Practice Manager and/or Clinical Supervisor, assuming responsibility for:
    • Vaccine reconciliation and inventory
    • VFC Coordinator or back-up coordinator
    • Lab oversight
    • Clinical supply inventory
    • Medication counts
    • Performing chart audits and competency testing
    • Monitoring medical equipment to ensure it is in good working condition and meets regulatory standards for routine preventive maintenance
  • The Clinical Lead performs all duties required of a Medical Assistant Level I and Level II, successfully maintaining competency in all areas of clinical care.
    • Accurately obtains and documents chief complaint for patient visit, all vital signs, medication requests, allergies, etc.
    • Prepares exam room and patient for specific type of visit
    • Collects specimens and uses appropriate equipment and protocols for specimen collection, processing, handling, and storage.  Ensures all specimens are tracked/logged prior to transportation to lab.
    • Performs all orders/instructions as recorded and instructed by the provider/standing order
    • Clearly and accurately documents all aspects of patient care in the electronic health record
    • Accurately prepares and administers medications, injections, and immunizations as per standing order and/or provider order.  Demonstrates proper handling, storage, and record-keeping of vaccines.
    • Provides patient educational materials and ensures patient understanding of illness and/or treatment plan as directed by the provider.
    • Completes pre-visit chart prep for each patient daily as according to established guidelines.  Participates in daily huddles with the provider and multidisciplinary care team.
    • Efficiently manages daily patient flow to handle fluctuating patient volumes, demands, and delays. 
    • Prioritizes tasks and activities that are delegated by the provider and care team, including, but not limited to, inbox management in the electronic health record
    • Completes referral needs for patients, including scheduling and arranging appointments and prior authorization
    • Reviews labs, x-rays, test results, and clinical documents and follows up with provider on urgent results 
    • Effectively presents clinical information to the care team
